Just a heads up, attempting to lose 10lbs a week is VERY risky, and you should only do this if you understand all the risks involved. I also want to advise you not to attempt this at all even if you understand the risks, it is far better to lose weight at a slower rate (3,4,5 pounds a week). That said, if you really want to lose 10lbs in a week who am I to tell you how to live your life.
I’m going to teach you how to lose 10lbs in a week.
In order to lose 10lbs, you need to burn a whopping 35,000 calories (1 pound = 3,500 calories). This is no easy task; you’re going to have to burn around 5,000 calories a day.
Depending on how much you weigh, you burn between 2000-3000 calories a day just to stay alive. If you’re over 300 pounds, your body burns closer to 3000 a day and if you weigh 180 pounds, it’s around 2000. So even if you didn’t eat anything at all you would need to burn an extra 2000 calories EVERY DAY. This might seem impossible but it is achievable if you follow a strict diet and exercise regime.
So do you still want to know how to lose 10lbs in a week?
There are 3 steps you need to follow if you want to learn how to lose 10lbs in a week.
- Your diet will be in shambles. You’re going to be eating foods that fill you up but don’t give you many calories. Foods such as tuna, chicken breast, green vegetables, and brown rice are all good examples. Like I said earlier, if you ate no food you would have to still burn off 2000 calories. But that’s crazy, you need to eat something.
A good amount of calories to aim for is around 1,000. Eat 1,000 calories of food every day for the next week. This means that you will now have to burn 3,000 extra calories every day. Be warned, this is going to take hours and hours of exercise. I did warn you this wasn’t going to be easy (or safe! You can still turn back now before it’s too late!).
- Exercise hard. So now you’ve got your diet all planned and worked out, it’s time to exercise. This is where the real danger kicks in; exercising for hours a day when you’re overweight and barely eating enough to survive could kill you. I’m very serious, it could kill you.
But, if you want to risk it I won’t talk you out of it. You’re going to need to do about 3 hours of exercise every day for the whole week. 3 hours of nonstop running at a slow pace should burn about 2500-3000 calories depending on how much you weigh. I would suggest splitting it up into 3 different one hour runs, so you don’t wear yourself down too much.
- Stay hydrated, and make sure you take multivitamins and other health supplements.
Like I’ve said before, it’s very dangerous to attempt to lose 10lbs in a week, so you need to be as careful as possible.
There you have it, that’s how to lose 10lbs in a week!
If you eat 1000 calories a day and burn 3000 through exercise, and burn another 3000 through just being alive, that will result in 5000 a day or 35,000 a week.
A final word of warning: Don’t do this. The risks far outweigh the potential gain. Instead, you should aim to lose 2, 3, or even 4 pounds a week. This is a much more attainable goal, and you don’t have to risk your life to achieve it. For more about healthy, steady weight loss, subscribe to our email list below.
