A very common question among beginner bodybuilders and people trying to lose weight is “hey dude, how to exercise at the gym?”
My answer is usually very straightforward, but in some cases a more longwinded explanation is required. In this post I will explain exactly how to go about exercising at the gym. I will leave no detail out. This will be the definitive guide on “how to exercise at the gym”.
Step 1: Go to the gym
This might seem very obvious but you would be surprised at how many people fail to get this right. I’ve had clients look at me funny when I tell them they need to actually go to the gym before they can exercise there. So get in your car, on your bike, or just walk down to your local gym.
Step 2: Sign up for the gym
At this point you should be at the gym, good work! Now you will need to either pay for a gym membership, which will last anywhere from a month to multiple years (depends on the individual gym), or simply pay for a single session. After you’ve made your decision, pay the fee and enter the gym.
Step 3: Exercise
This bit is the hardest because you have to exert yourself physically. If you’re trying to lose weight, maybe start with some cardio and when you feel more comfortable in a gym environment, move on to some weight training. If you’re trying to bulk up and put on some serious muscle, start off with some beginner weight lifting exercises. Whatever your goals, you can, and will, achieve them at the gym.
Step 4: Go home
After you’ve built up a sufficient sweat, it’s time to get your ass back home. Walk/ride/drive all the way back to where you came from and have a little rest, because you earned it buddy. And when you wake up tomorrow morning, repeat steps 1-4 for maximum chance of success.
Now THAT is how to exercise at the gym. If you’re thinking to yourself “hey guy, I already knew this stuff, you’re an idiot!” well to that I say, yes. If you’re looking for some more advanced stuff, or maybe just want to get a killer sixpack, I’d recommend clicking on this link.
